Sneak Peek Sunday & a *NEW* Loving Leonardo – The Quest

Sneak Peek Sunday Banner It’s Sneak Peek Sunday!

And I have a new book out! The adventures of Nicolas, Ellie and Luca continue in Loving Leonardo – The Quest.

Blurb:
Art Historian Nicolas Halstead never could have imagined a book Leonardo da Vinci created for his lover Salai existed, let alone lead to subtle declarations of love worked into da Vinci masterpieces. Nor did he ever picture himself a married man in a polyamorous relationship.

Happy and content, Nicolas, Ellie, and Luca embark on a quest to learn all they can about the greatest mind of the Renaissance. But their world takes a devastating and deadly turn that sends Nicolas into the seedy deviant underworld of Victorian London. It soon becomes clear that Conte Acario Bruno lives, and the madman wants far more than Leonardo’s book. He wants Nicolas dead and Luca for himself.

Here’s my Sneak Peek from Loving Leonardo – The Quest
Setting the Stage: Just landed in Paris, Nicolas receives a telegram from his housekeeper Mrs. Fletcher.

I had just removed my tie when came a quiet knock at our door. A chasseur met me with a silver tray in hand, upon it a telegram. I tipped the man and closed the door behind him. Confused, I turned to my companions. “I can’t imagine what this is about.”

Luca and Ellie both drew close as I unfolded the paper. It was from Mrs. Fletcher. I read it aloud,  My Dear Boy, Come home. Thomas has been injured and is not expected to survive. Come home. We need you. MF

Ellie laid a hand on my arm. “I’ll pack straightaway.”

I could barely breathe. My dear Thom not expected to survive. Needing the anchor of her love, I pulled Ellie to me and hugged her fiercely. An instant later, Luca’s warm body enfolded me as well. Choking back my misery, I said to him, “I’m leaving now. Bring Ellie.”

Winding her arms around my waist, she protested, “No. Nicolas, my place is by your side.”

Luca said, “As is mine.”

Ah ha! A window into web management for a complete nerd like me (?).

    • LOL caught that did you? That’s called trusting WordPress’ MSWord conversion feature while foregoing coffee because you’re rushing out the door to take advantage of a sunny morning at an outdoor flea market. Conversion — Ha! I won’t be using that again. I just found that feature yesterday. I’ll trim the old fashioned way from now on. 🙂

I just downloaded MS Office 2010 free a week ago. I haven’t started using it yet. I am busy right now (and confounding my PC guy) trying to figure out why I’m consuming hard drive free space at the rate of a GB/per day. I’m not streaming movies, or pictures or anything that takes up a lot of space.

Fascinating – will have to check this out.

    • Thanks for stopping Daryl. I hope you enjoy this unusual story. My Nicolas and Ellie (Elenora) have their roots in the old Dashiell Hammett mystery-solving characters Nick and Nora Charles. I enjoyed them so much, I plan to bring them back for more adventures.
